Cobblestones in Meissen

Meissen is the next big place down the Elbe. You can stand very well with your camper on the banks of the Elbe. Maybe you just have to avoid the very frequented places – Spreewald, Elbe Sandstone Mountains, etc.- to travel as we like it.

We cycle into the old town – good because on the hills, bad because cobblestones everywhere. The steep streets also keep us from visiting the cathedral.

I decide to climb the tower of the Frauenkirche. You have to get the key in the church and lock it again behind you. At first it is nice and cool in the tower, but it gets hotter with every step. It goes up through old walls, at the very top you can enjoy the view and the coolness.

Today it is extremely hot. In the late afternoon I cycle up the Elbe towards Dresden.
