To the mouth of the river Ahr

The thunderstorm in the evening brought some cooling.

Bad Neuenahr has everything a spa needs:  spas, spa gardens, and of course a casino.

But we are not very interested in all of this, we now want to cycle to the mouth, which is not far away. The Ahr Bike Track ends in Sinzig on the banks of the Rhine.

Our place for the night is right next to the small castle.

From the 12th to the 14th century, Sinzig had an imperial palace with many stays by German kings and emperors. Friedrich I. Barbarossa was also often in the city, this is why Sinzig is a “Barbarossa city”, as you can see from the Barbarossa sculptures everywhere. Some have a corona mask in front of their faces.

Another famous son of the city is Rudi Altig, the king of the bike. Born in Mannheim, he lived here for many years.
