On our drive through the hinterland of Valencia we come through thermal baths (very crowded!) and impressive landscapes. Our collection of mountain passes is enhanced by two – even if the driver is not so enthusiastic about the many curves. It seems we are on a motorcycle route, with all the bikers we see.
The large Mudejar-style tower is visible from afar and the landmark of the town of Jerica.
At the foot of the tower I find a tree with these fruits. Does anyone know what that is? Rod? In any case, I have never seen these fruits / flowers. They are about the size of apples and a little firmer than lantern flowers.
The route is very nice, but nowhere we find a place to stay. Our tour today will be a bit longer, because we try our luck at a reservoir. Many curves go up to a plateau. The reservoir lies below us. It may have been late, but the effort was worth it.
At breakfast we are surprised by a bicycle race over the dam with at least 1000 drivers. Congratulation to everyone, because they have made the long way up.
