The Roads in Bulgaria

From a distance you can see the bright bridge between Romania and Bulgaria, called the “Bridge New Europe”.

We stay overnight in Lom right on the bank of the Danube.

The streets of Bulgaria can be classified as useful, bad and terrible. You do not know what is better: huge potholes in a patchwork quilt or the jogging on a paved road.

There are not many bridges across the river to the neighboring country. The prospect of driving longer on this roads brings us to the ferry from Oryahovo, which is especially important for long-distance traffic. Apart from us there is only one more car on the Danube ferry.

Back in Romania, driving is a lot more relaxed, even if you sometimes have to share the road with a horse cart – as in Bulgaria.
