Holy Three Kings

On the eve of Three King’s Day, the wait is over. The Spanish children finally get their Christmas presents. And we are back in Rojales.

On January 6th all Spaniards eat a “Roscon del Rey”, a royal cake. Hidden inside are a porcelain figurine – a king – and a dry bean that can not be eaten. Traditionally, the one who finds the bean has to pay for the cake next year. But who finds the porcelain figure, is crowned on this day  and gets a paper crown attached. Oh, wonder, I’m the queen, and I have to wear the crown  all day long.

The housewife has once again exeeded herself and prepared a conchinillo, which is a Spanish suckling pig. The temperatures are very pleasant and we can even eat outside.

We are spoiled culinary wise day after day.

On the beach we enjoy the sun bevor the cold front also comes to Spain.
