To our German Neighorhood

For our autumn trip, we choose the Czech Republic, our German neighbor country. Shortly after the border there is the first beer cellar – in a real cellar. Unfortunately, it is very crowded and so we just have a look around, then we continue.

Our first destination is Marienbad (Marianske Lazne). 160 mineral springs are bubbling in and around the spa.

A city in the style of a “Zuckerbäcker” – squiggles everywhere!

The cast-iron main collonade is a showpiece of the European spa culture.

The modern singing fountain is only in operation during the summer months. From 260 small nozzles the water fountains dance around the stylized flower in the middle and classical Melodies resound alternately.

  1. Glad to see you on the road again! And … the famous 1960ish movie, Last Night in Marienbad, was it actually filmed there? May have to watch the movie though I’m not much for scary films…
