Tiryns, Castle of the Cyclops

Unlike most castles, the castle of Tiryns does not sit on top of a mountain but in the plain. Maybe that’s why it needed so powerful walls, its strength varies between 4 and 17 meters. According to Homer, King Proitos hired the Cyclops, one-eyed giant humans, who, as guest workers, built the walls out of the massive boulders.
