The Geographical Centre of Europe

About 20km north of Vilnius is the geographic center of the European continent. Several places in Eastern Europe want to claim this honor for themselves. However, the latest calculations by the French National Surveying Office revealed the coordinates of this point. The flags of the European countries surround a column of white granite crowned with golden sparkling stars erected in 2004 on the occasion of the accession of Lithuania to the EU.

  1. Well – Vilnius as the center of Europe sounds about right to me. If they are using tectonic plate boundaries and use, approximately, the Ural Mountains as the northeastern boundary …
