The campsite inWilhelmshaven with the view to the Jadebusen is gorgeous.

Across the bridge we reach the city. Mainly we need fresh coffee.

We enjoy the music of the dixie-band. The lunch in the Chinese restaurant is excellent, but the cheapest on our trip so far. On the other hand we drink the most expensive coffee…

We cycle back and forth through this city but don’t find a real center, but the mayor house and a few curious pieces of art.

Wilhelmshaven was founded in 1869 by King William I of Prussia because of the unique and sheltered position as a naval garrison. Today the city is Germany’s largest naval base of the Bundeswehr.

The “Südstrand”is the place tho go for the people of Wilhelmshaven. Many people enjoy the sun on the lawn and quite a few are even in the water. For us this is simply too cold.
