The small peninsula Punt van Reide south of Delfzijl is the natural border between the Dollart and the River Ems. It always was a strategic point in different wars. Today the Punt van Reide is part of the large Naturreserve Dollart.
By bike we can enter the area and are very lucky to be able to watch about 15 seals.
Sheep feeding on dikes help to secure the dike. They bite the gras very short and walking on the dike solidifies it. Ok, we learned something new. Will we bring now more respect towards this animal?
