Viaduc de Garabit

Heavy fog covers the whole valley of the River Doubs. Even our navigation system knows this! But when the day grows older, the sky gets blue and the temperature pleasant. Right in time we pass a huge water reservoir lake. The viaduct “Viaduc de Garabit” stretches across the Valley above the River Truyère. Built by Monsieur Eiffel towards the end of the 19th century. For quite a while it was the highest railway crossing worldwide. It used to be grey – a few years back it got this nice red color.
