In the morning the rain is pouring, you would mean the sky is coming down! But not very long and we can see the blue of the sky. Our destination today is Middelburg, the capital of the Dutch Province of Zeeland. It has been totally destroyed during WWII but reconstructed exemplary.
Usually the city hall from the 15th century restrains the cityscape, but on Thursday the big market in front is the main attraction.
The large Abbey with its inner courtyard has been carefully rebuilt.
In the middle of the yard all of sudden we hear virulent laughter which doesn’t seem to end. We start searching for the reason of this jollity and eventually discover a loudspeaker hidden in the top of a tree!
Behind the dam are nice parkings but in Holland it is not allowed to camp free and fees are quite high. After a walk along the beach we look for a „Mini-Camping“ which have established themselves all over the country.
