Montrichard

September 25

A thick layer of haze covers in the morning the Loire. But soon the sun comes out and eats the fog away.

The small city of Montrichard is located offside on the River Cher.

High above the city sits the Donjon (built in the 12th century) and dominates everything.

There are pretty timbered houses and nice shops.

We discover the old shop of a blacksmith, the old lady can hardly stop to explain and show us everything.

Across the bridge we find a campsite with a beautiful view to the stagnant river Cher and the town with the castle. Every once in a while a buckeye bangs on our vehicle.

The morning sun sends its rays across the water.

Montrichard has a nice little market where we buy cheese, fruit and of course oysters.

  1. Fabulous photos, Traudel. The peddling looks lovely though, of course, I let you folks eat all of those bi-valves.
