Obviously on Easter Monday the whole population of southern Italy is on the move. In our case they are all in Otranto. But we don’t wan’t to miss the small city.
The highlight of the old town is the Duomo. The outside is quite plain except the baroque entrance with the huge rosette.
Inside one doesn’t know if to look up or down. The ceiling is a golden casette structure.
The floor is completely filled by a carpet of mosaic. Unfortunately part of it is covered by church benches and people even walk on it.
