October 1st: Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen

The Zeppelin Museum in Friedrichshafen provides the most considerable and extensive collection worldwide about history and technique of the Zeppelin.

The first rise happened in July 1900, the disaster of Lakehurst 1937 meant the end of the aeronautical airship.

The size and speed of this airship was amazing and new to me. The biggest model had a length of 246 meter and a diameter of 41 meter. The fastest trip from Lakehurst to Frankfurt happened in 43 hours (for 6732km), but one has to say by this trip the winds were very favorable.
