La Donana – the delta of Rio Guadalquivir

May 4th

La Donana is a huge Natural Park in the delta of the Rio Guadalquivir. It belongs to the UNESCO Heritage. From our campsite we can see the dark pine forest.

A boat takes upriver for half an hour. The country reminds both of us of the island of Briuni in Croatia. An unimog takes deeper in the Donana. We view some deer and several wild boars. It is kind of strange to gaze at these animals which cause us so much trouble back home. Maybe they should be catched and set free here…

The pad gets more and more sandy – which of course reminds us of our Saudi time. Where is a decent campsite?

The way back leads along the beach where we spot a fox. Amazing piece of land!
