19./20. August: The becomes unbearable. We drive up through steep valleys to the heights of the Black Forest. On a pass with a beautiful view we stay for the night. All the cars are gone – only a few campers keep us company. In the morning we drive up to the Belchen, the summit we have seen from our campsite. To protect the mountain you either have to walk or to take the cable car to reach the top. Even here at an altitude of 1414m the scale of the thermometer shows more than 30°. A little walk brings us down again. We decide to go back to the campsite we have been, it would be hard to find a nicer one. Later in the afternoon a thunderstorm freshens up the air but after the sky is clear again.
