Six Europeans in Berlin – Museums and more

We are thrilled by the Public Transport of Berlin. We paid 35€ to move for five days around Berlin and Potsdam. Today we use the S-Bahn and take our bikes with us.

The Pergamon Museum is unquestionable a must. Even the thrid or forth visit is still interesting.

Right now they show something very special: Pergamon, the panorama of an ancient metropolis.

Main subject of the Museum for Islamic Art is the Middle East including Egypt and Iran. For former Saudis like us specially interesting.

The “Hackeschen Höfe” have been built beginning of the 20th century. There are eight yards with workshops, shops and flats. By the reconstruction in 1997 cinemas, theaters and restaurants were added. We end up in the “Oxymoron”, which is a restaurant during the day and a dance club in the evenings. Our lunch is very good….

During the last days we passed the “Berlin Dom” quite often, today we will visit the church of the house Hohenzollern – the emperor family of Germany – from the crypt to the cuppola from where one has a magnificent view over the roofs of Berlin.

As we bike aling “Unter den Linden” we pass the Humboldt University and the “Old Fritz”. Eventually  we hit the bike trail along the Berlin Wall again.

There is an info center and memorial of the Berlin Wall which gives you all informations about this time. Of course we know all this but it is different and depressing actually see the watch towers and by a wall blocked roads.
